ancient history of magic

after reading the seventh book, there were two things about Victoire and Fleur that I never felt entirely comfortable with:

- first: Fleur was the best witch in her year, the champion of Beauxbatons, and went to work part-time for Gringotts after her education. But in book 7 she didn't seem to have a carreer of her own, she only did the housework. Of course there is nothing at all wrong with being a housewife (so please don't yell at me), but to me Fleur didn't seem like the kind of person who would be content sitting at home.
- second: Victoire and Teddy aren't blood-related, but seeing as how Harry is Teddy's godfather and Ginny is Victoire's aunt, they do belong to the same family. When they got together in the epilogue of book 7, to me it didn't seem very romantic or sexy.

Of course there is nothing exactly wrong with these two things, but for the sake of Fleur's passionate character and Teddy and Victoire's romance, I tried to imagine a more interesting situation (which in no way contradicts what was written in the books, because I am a canon-freak )

So here goes: what if Fleur and Bill were just temporarily hiding in that cottage in book 7, but after the war decide to return to Egypt? Victoire would grow up in Egypt (and go to a local magical school), while Bill continues his work for Gringotts as a curse-breaker. Fleur could become a scientist, descovering ground-breaking facts about the ancient magic of the Egyptians. After sixteen years they return to England and send Victoire to Hogwarts where she meets (and falls in love with) Teddy!

So what do you think? Do you like my little attempt at fan-fiction or should I stay clear of it from now on?
